Jerilyn Sue Picha, 46

She was born November 6, 1964, in Greenfield, the daughter of Robert and Betty Lowe. Jerilyn graduated from Greenfield Central High School then attended both Purdue University and Ball State University. She was a member of Destiny Christian Center International and the East Central Emmaus Community. Jeri was Vice President/ Customer Relations/ Troubleshooting Technician for Picha Aircraft Radio Service Incorporated. She was a fashion designer, costume maker, aspiring author, board and card game player, and a fabulous chef. Jeri also served her community as a certified Storm Spotter, Search and Rescue Technician, Ham Radio Operator, and Community Emergency Response Team member. She worked with the Paws for Reading program at Kennedy Library with her two certified Therapy/ Agility Poodles, Fantasy and Tinker. She was an enormous fan of all things Walt Disney. Jeri also cheered on her favorite football team, the Indianapolis Colts. By far Jeri's best quality was being a loving wife to her husband, Scott. Scott and Jeri had a marriage filled with fun and laughter after meeting at a Star Trek Convention in November, 1992. Scott and Jeri always liked to tease each other over which was the best science fiction franchise- Star Trek or Star Wars. They were married on May 7, 1994 and enjoyed a wonderful life of seventeen years, one month, and seventeen days together Survivors include her husband, Scott, who will forever miss his best friend and lovely young wife, as well as Fantasy and Tinker; her parents; a brother, Bob Lowe (wife, Kim), Indianapolis; nephew, Bobby Lowe (wife, Lisa), Indianapolis; brother-in-law, Craig Bridge (wife, Joan); niece, Jaime Dunn (husband, Adam), Knoxville, Tennessee; niece, Tracy Dugger (husband, Will), Windermere, Florida. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Destiny Christian Center International, 5000 East Centennial Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47303. Entombment will follow in The Gardens of Memory, north of Muncie. Family and friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Lost Bands Of The New Wave Era: Fabulous Poodles

England's The Fabulous Poodles were a quirky pub rock band formed in 1976 and after releasing two albums in the U.K. came close to breaking big in the U.S. with their stateside debut album "Mirror Stars" (Epic, 1978). They toured the states opening for Tom Petty, The Ramones and even Sha Na Na and appeared on Dick Clark's legendary American Bandstand

Seriously one of the coolest nerd-rock bands ever. Tight arrangements, great sense of timing, just the right blend of cynical wit, nostalgic romanticism and never took themselves TOO seriously but were always pros when it came to playing. Dig around for the stuff that's NOT included on "His Master's Voice", their greatest hits CD, you'll miss the complete Fab Poodles experience without it. I miss these guys. Didn't get to see them play since I worked that night but did get served cake by all four band members early in the afternoon at a local record store!

I have loved the Mirror Stars ever since I bought it on 8 track back in late 77 or early 78. My girlfriend's name was Cheryl so Oh Cheryl was one of my favorite cuts. The 8 track gave up the ghost a long time ago and I had been surviving on and old casette copy for years. It finally died in 98 after one to many plays on a radio show I had on my college radio station (work shy and roll your own were big listener favs) My old girlfriend (Cheryl) knew how much I loved the album so for Christmas of 00 she gifted me with a mint LP that she managed to find somewhere. I haven't played it yet because I want to keep it pristine so that when I can afford the equipment to transfer it to CD I can get cherry copy.

There is one thing I feel compelled to correct: our management may have been tough cookies but they never forbade us from using our names after the band split. Tony de Meur used the name "Ronnie Golden" because he like it and fantasised about having a '50s R'n'R band called "Ronnie Golden and the Earthlings". Checkout his website: www.ronniegolden.
