Celadon Perfume Review

Exhibition Featuring Ornaments from Past Presents Traditional Beauty

Just like many women today, women who lived during the Goryeo and Joseon Dynasties started their day putting on make up.
White powder from flowers called marvels of Peru were mixed with water and applied from porcelain dishes, while safflower-extracted products are kept for color makeup.
Camellia or fragrance oils were often used to keep hair bright and smelling good.
And they topped off their look by wearing accessories.
Accessories made out of precious stones such as norigae and binyeo were among the most worn ornaments.

Shinsegae Gallery ] "As you can see expensive materials such as silver, celadon and white porcelain were used and the design is very impressive. This shows how women have always wanted to look beautiful."


Craftsmen today are making efforts to preserve this heritage and are creating modern versions of these accessories.
