Allegations against David DeChristafaro
The final pre-trial preparations took place Monday in the upcoming civil trial against Trumbull County Engineer David DeChristafaro. The case which seeks to remove DeChristafaro from office is scheduled for July 18th.
He's accused of theft in office, mis-using county labor and resources.
An attorney for a Niles taxpayer seeking to remove DeChristafaro says some of the strongest testimony comes from the elected official's own secretary.
DeChristafaro's legal battles don't end there, a criminal investigation is also underway by the Ohio Attorney General and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification.
The Trumbull County Engineer is also fighting one of three lawsuits in federal court brought by employees who claim wrongful termination.
