GRAND RAPIDS - Staycations, a non-drug remedy for Restless Legs Syndrome, and a new kind of art show are among the ideas that will be pitched Tuesday at 5x5 Night , the entrepreneurial event that gives people a chance at up to $5,000 in seed money.

Each of the five presenters will have five minutes to show five slides to the five judges, hoping to be awarded all or part of the funds.

Dylan Valade will be explaining We Are Up North, a website that shows people “how to maximize their limited vacation time and weekends by exploring our hand picked and tested destinations.”

“People have had to tighten their belts and save,” Valade said. “But living in Michigan during tough times is perfect, because you still have access to … exotic year-round vacation activity within a half day drive.”

Buzz Lynds wants to share Rest for the Restless: An RLS Tamer – a treatment he found for Restless Legs Syndrome, “a maddening condition I share with millions of others,” he said.

“What I've discovered not only relieves RLS, but also may lead to non-drug solutions for some movement disorders and pain management.”

Trevor Dobias will pitch Peep, a new kind of art show. Peep would be a monthly event “uniquely tied together with the sole purpose to challenge the artists with constraints that focus ideas, and create a unified show for everyone regardless of style,” Dobias said.

The first show is scheduled for July at the Division Avenue Arts Collective . The theme? Art completely made from National Geographic magazines.

James Eldersveld will explain Unique Delivery to Grand Rapids. Eldersveld did not want to release any specifics before the event, but he said the service will be something new in Grand Rapids. “It's a delivery services that will give people access to a unique product,” he said.

Jon Bell also was tight-lipped on his presentation for 599 Club , but he did confirm it has nothing to do with Jet Blue offering unlimited flying for one month for $599.

Bell said his idea deals with the creative community.

“My hope is that people will look at this idea as a whole new way of looking at this type of business,” he said.

5x5 Night was launched by ArtPrize founder Rick DeVos. After Tuesday, it is taking the summer off and will return in the fall after ArtPrize.

The event starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Grand Rapids Art Museum, admission is $5. The winners will be announced after at the nearby Reserve Wine Bar.
