Town Manager's report

By JAMIE GREENE

Here's an update on some things you should know about this week:

At the Tuesday morning work session, the Council and staff reviewed the budget's special revenue funds and sewer and water funds. At the evening meeting, the Council approved three business licenses; heard a report from the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board; approved the design of the proposed Search and Rescue building; approved two MAP Fund award recommendations; approved a letter of agreement between the Town and the Montana Public Employees Association; tabled a resolution writing off delinquent utility bills; adopted a resolution writing off delinquent ambulance bills; adopted a resolution stating the Town's plan to hold a mail ballot election this fall; and adopted a resolution stating the Town's intent to donate land to Yellowstone West Medical Center should the group meet certain conditions detailed in the resolution.

The sewer lift station project continues to progress. We expect the new lift station to be online by early next week. The existing lift station will be taken out of service and demolished sometime this summer or early fall.

CS Construction made a lot of progress on the clinic remodel last week. The east end of the clinic -- where the new waiting room, reception area, and several redesigned exam rooms are located -- is finished. The reception area has moved to its new location on the north side and work has started on the west end of the building.

The Dining Lodge window project continues. The first set of four rehabilitated window frames returned to West Yellowstone last Monday.

The frames will be reinstalled in the next week and the glass will be installed in approximately three weeks. After the first set of windows is reinstalled, another four of the windows will be removed for renovation off-site.

Asphalt Maintenance has finished the crack seal job. We appreciate the effort that they put forth in moving forward with the job between rainstorms last week.

The bid documents for the Madison Avenue streetlight project should be published in the next week or so. Our goal is to have a bid opening prior to the July 19 council meeting. If all goes as planned, we are looking at starting construction on the project right after Labor Day weekend.

As I have mentioned before, the Request for Proposals for commercial operation of the Dining Lodge has been published and is being advertised. Proposals are due to the Town Offices on July 29.
