Rockport Art Association is pleased to announce "OUTSIDE IN," an exhibition featuring the works of contemporary Gloucester artists Gordon Goetemann, Ruth Mordecai & Jon Sarkin. This special exhibition is part of a series of special events in celebration of the RAA';s 90th anniversary. The public is invited to the opening reception Friday, June 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition runs through July 19th.

A special exhibition featuring the works of contemporary Gloucester artists opens tomorrow at the Rockport Art Association.

The new show, "Outside In," part of the art group's 90th anniversary, features the works of Gordon Goetemann, Ruth Mordecai and Jon Sarkin. The public is invited to the opening reception tomorrow from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition runs through July 19.

In conjunction with the exhibition, will be three "meet the artist" gallery talks, all at 7 p.m.: Goetemann on June 22, Mordecai on June 29, and Sarkin on July 13.

Goetemann first came to Gloucester in the summer of 1954 to study with Umberto Romano. The experience set the course for his painting career. He received his Master of Fine Arts from the State University of Iowa in Iowa City, and has taught at universities and colleges in Indiana, Minesota, Illinois, and Canada.

Goetemann's work has been accessioned into the collections of the Cape Ann Museum and the Aldrick Museum of American Art, as well as many private and corporate collections. He and his wife Judith Steele Goetemann, also an artist, maintain a studio on Rocky Neck, Gloucester, MA.

Mordecai received both her Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts degrees from Boston University School for the Arts in Boston. At BU she majored in sculpture and spent many years working from the figure. She thought that her whole artistic life would be spent with the structural and gestural forms of the figure. But the more her work evolved into gesture, the more abstract it became.

All these are small problems compared to retrogression. Labor substitution rule will not get any visible or any noticeable relief to us. IV members writing negative comments on various forums or feel disheartened should know that to get even a smallest job done is not easy. They are not only harming the whole effort and making anti immigrants happy, but also harming themselves by hurting this cause. Sometimes it is sad to read such negatve comments when you know how hard it is to work with limited time, resources, manpower and lack of much needed motivation in members. BTW In our recent efforts we did give anti-immigrants shivers down their spine. It can be seen from their posts on their sites and also the hate mails they write on our forum and send to core members. You dont see a lot of it because we moderate posts. We are not scared of anyone. All this has only made our resolve stronger to fight it out and fix the system. An MBA from an accredited AACSB university is a good investment for the long-term. However most such schools require a good GMAT school, require 2-3 years of part-time classes and cost anywhere between 30k-50k. But then there are people who are already in their late 30s or early 40s who go back to school to get an MBA. So age should not be a factor for higher education if you are in your mid-30s, If you read NumbersUSA reports also, you will find the same theme. The writer willfully obscures the fact and tries to sell his/her belief as a fact to the readers. I sent them e-mails to point out the inaccuracies, but they do not care and they are bent on selling these fallacies to public. No wonder the mainstream media does not accept their versions.
